Being in the health and fitness industry for more than 20 years, my passion is helping you do the activities that make you feel alive, happy and free. Whether this means being able to hike or run the local trails or crawl around on the floor with your kids or grandkids, my instruction is all about functional movement. ​I specialize in offering practical workouts that move your body in all planes of motion, challenging your balance, body control, coordination and overall awareness. In my yoga classes, we slow down and go even deeper into these types of movements using the breath and mindful awareness.

​​My students describe my teaching style as engaged, challenging, attentive to form, creative, functional, educational, and encouraging.

If you want to take ownership of your own health and healing process, then you're my kind of client. I am here to help you get to know your own body and movement patterns. In my classes, you are encouraged to pay attention to how you are moving so that you get something beyond a workout. In my private sessions, we have the time to delve in deeper to your own specific needs so that we can get down to the root cause of any ongoing injuries or physical limitations. After each session, you'll walk away having learned something new about your body or mind. To integrate what you've learned, you'll have homework to practice in the time between appointments. 

I believe that movement with awareness heals. My own injuries have invited me to dive deep and notice how I move, what patterns I have that contribute to the pain/injury, how I hold myself, the thoughts I have about the injury, and the emotional response I have to it. Each injury 'limited' me in some way, and instead of giving up that activity, I chose to slow down, do things a little differently and re-learn how to move in a way that allowed me to continue to enjoy what I love doing in some way. With time and mindful movement, I returned at full speed with a deeper awareness. This is the kind of adventure I enjoy taking with clients. 

​In my free time, you can find me hiking with my husband and our dog, or hanging out with our daughter (when she has time for us)!
